Congo (DRC) Ebola confirmed cases rise to 837

A correspondent from the main station learned on the 16th at local time that the latest figures from the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo show that the total number of confirmed cases in this round of the Ebola outbreak in the country has risen to 837, including 196 deaths, with a case fatality rate of 23.4%. The health authorities said that 49 patients have recovered, and 376 patients are still receiving isolation treatment. Health institutions and international partners warned that, since community transmission of the outbreak has not been interrupted and affected areas continue to expand, the current outbreak situation remains severe, and prevention and control efforts face major challenges.
