A former encryption policy specialist—now set to found the boutique consultancy Thompson Street—is providing cross-Atlantic regulatory and policy consulting for cutting-edge technology companies in crypto, stablecoins, artificial intelligence, and other emerging fields. Team members include Brendan Malone, who helped create the Policy Lab at Paradigm and worked at the Federal Reserve for six years; Khurram Dara, formerly of Coinbase and Bain Capital Crypto; Jon Isaksen, a former official at the European Commission; and Reid Yager, who has worked at FS Vector and Flashbots. Dara said that policy choices in the coming years will shape the development of cutting-edge technology for decades, and that companies should proactively participate in rule-making rather than passively accept regulatory outcomes.
