Serenity: AMD urgently secures CW laser supply, AAOI and SIVE will profit
Mars Finance reports that on June 16, Serenity said that NVIDIA has already fully locked in EML production capacity, creating a bottleneck across the entire industry. It is now using the same strategy to lock in CW laser capacity (mainly through LITE, COHR, and possibly long-term supply contracts with MRVL and Celestial).
Meanwhile, AMD is urgently trying to secure CW laser supplies, but hyperscalers such as AMD, AMZN, and META have responded too slowly, severely constraining themselves.
Serenity analyzes the current supply-chain status of relevant products as follows: major manufacturers such as Lumentum and Coherent have already been tied up with EML contracts, leaving only a small number of remaining independent/merchant suppliers (such as AAOI, MTSI, and SIVE). As a result, all parties can only compete for these. Independent CW laser-related companies such as AAOI and SIVE have become beneficiary targets.
