Abstract generation in progress
CryptoWorld News, Volcano Engine launched the Seedance 2.0 mini video generation model at its Volcano Ark Experience Center on June 16.
The cost to generate a single second is approximately 0.5 yuan, and an API service is planned to be launched soon.
This model, as a high cost-performance version, mainly targets high-concurrency, high-throughput scaled video production scenarios such as e-commerce material generation, short dramas, and marketing content bulk creation.
Official data shows that Seedance 2.0 mini maintains output quality while doubling the generation speed compared to the fast version of the same series, and the generation cost is about 50% lower than the Seedance 2.0 standard version.
In terms of billing standards, Seedance 2.0 mini image-to-video is priced at 0.023 yuan per thousand tokens, and video-to-video is priced at 0.014 yuan per thousand tokens, aiming to lower the barriers for trial and production in high-frequency video generation scenarios.

0.023 yuan per thousand tokens looks cheap, but actually running a 15-second video requires careful calculation, don't be fooled by token measurement.

ByteDance's recent pricing is indeed aggressive; 0.5 yuan per second instantly pushed video generation costs down to the floor price, and the e-commerce team is ecstatic.

Halving costs and doubling speed—are Volcano trying to replicate Midjourney's approach in the image domain onto video?

Seedance 2.0 mini just sounds lightweight from the name alone. Once the API goes live, I’m planning to connect it into my workflow and test the waters.

Is image-to-video more expensive than video-to-video? This pricing strategy is a bit counterintuitive, but running materials in batches is indeed really worth it.
