Deep Tide TechFlow News, June 15 — According to Decrypt, a 32-year-old man from Nancy, France, has been formally charged with participating in "wrench attacks" targeting cryptocurrency holders, facing allegations of attempted armed extortion, organized gang kidnapping, and conspiracy.

Three assailants impersonated police officers and carried out a violent attack at a couple's home, attempting to steal $20k worth of cryptocurrency. The attack occurred after the data leak incident involving the French crypto tax platform Waltio, where email addresses, trading profit and loss data, and cryptocurrency balances of approximately 50k users were exposed. Police confiscated plastic zip ties and 5 euro banknotes at the scene, and witnesses reported that the attackers were armed with Uzis.
