"The Biggest Dilemma for Post-2000s: Seeing Through Society but Not Ourselves"

My cousin is a post-2000s.
He quit his job last month. His boss painted a rosy picture: "Work hard, get promoted to manager next year."
He only asked one question: "How much more will I get paid?"
The boss said, "Depends on company policy."
He said, "Then I quit."
Many people think post-2000s have seen through everything, but actually, they just understand the numbers more clearly.
You talk about ideals, he asks if they can be cashed out; you paint a rosy picture, he asks where the flour comes from; you talk about a wolf-like culture, he says, "I'm here to work, not to participate in species evolution."
But have they really seen through everything?
Not necessarily.
After quitting, my cousin lay at home for half a month.
Every day, he watched videos and played games. I asked him what he would do next.
He said, "I don't know, just trying to survive for now."
This generation sees through their boss's tricks but can't see through their own future;
They can peel back the world's packaging but may not know what they truly want.
They haven't truly understood life.
They just don't want to believe those who once deceived others so easily anymore.
Seeing through is about recognizing lies.
Living fully is about finding direction.
These two things seem similar, but in reality, there's an entire youth between them.
