On the 15th local time, Israel’s Defense Minister Kats issued a statement saying that the Israel Defense Forces would not withdraw from fronts such as Lebanon. Israel’s senior leadership has communicated with senior U.S. officials regarding the matter. Kats said, “Prime Minister Netanyahu and I are spearheading a clear policy in which the Israel Defense Forces will remain indefinitely in the ‘security zones’ in Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip, in order to protect Israel’s borders and settlements from threats posed by armed forces.” (CCTV News)
