Semiconductor silicon wafer concept fluctuates upward, Yanyan Silicon rises over 15%
Mars Finance News: In the afternoon, the semiconductor silicon wafer concept saw a surge. Yanzhou Silicon rose by more than 15%, while Jing Sheng Electric, Shen Gong Co., Ltd., Shanghai Silicon Industry, Min De Electronics, and others followed suit.
On the news front, according to Caitong Securities, in May, all three global silicon wafer leaders—Shin-Etsu Chemical, SUMCO, and GlobalWafers—simultaneously issued price increase notices, kicking off the second round of price hikes this year. Among them, 12-inch conventional silicon wafers were raised by 5%–8%, while high-end specialty silicon wafers designed for AI/HPC scenarios saw an increase of 18%–22%. With two rounds of price hikes accumulated, the total increase for the year-to-date exceeded 15%, and the industry’s upward pricing trend continues to take effect. (Cailian News)
