According to Korean media einfomax, Future Asset Management has signed a business cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ondo Finance. The cooperation will focus on areas including tokenization of funds and real-world assets (RWA), building on-chain asset management infrastructure, and developing digital investment products for global investors. Future Asset plans to start with the tokenization of US-listed ETFs, and expand its tokenization business by leveraging its US subsidiary Global X and multiple overseas offices. Related laws on issuance of tokenized securities (STO) in South Korea are expected to be implemented in February next year. Previously, Future Asset has advanced the development of an on-chain settlement system with Ava Labs, acquired Korbit at the group level, and also carried out cooperation with Ondo Finance. Data from RWAxyz shows that the total value of on-chain tokenized stocks surpassed $1 billion earlier this year, with Ondo Finance accounting for a 58% market share.

Ondo’s 58% market share is something, Korea’s STO rolling out next year is just perfectly timed to grab the opening.

Choosing to put Global X ETF on the blockchain was a smart move; liquidity can first be captured from existing sources.
