It seems that Trump no longer wants to be used as a pawn by Israel, condemning Israel's attack on Beirut as something that should not have happened, especially on a special day close to reaching a peace agreement.

On June 14, Trump condemned Israel's attack on Beirut, stating it was "an attempt to undermine" the upcoming US-Iran peace deal.
This statement is a continuation of the recent "last-minute" series of actions in US-Iran negotiations, centered on Trump trying to secure a landmark diplomatic achievement before the "super weekend" of June 12-14, which includes his 80th birthday and the G7 summit.
Israeli Defense Minister Gantz had already explicitly warned on June 4 that if there was an attack on Israeli territory, Israel would reserve the right to strike Beirut.
The attack occurred at a sensitive point when Trump was predicting the agreement would be finalized, highlighting Netanyahu's government’s ongoing efforts to disrupt and compete for regional dominance with concrete actions, making Trump's "art of the deal" face public opposition from allies.
On June 14, Trump voiced condemnation of Israel's "attempt to undermine" the US-Iran agreement.
Trump stated: "The attack on Beirut this morning should not have happened, especially on a special day when we are close to reaching a peace deal with Iran."
"Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but the response to that attack was very minor and meaningless, with no injuries, disabilities, or deaths, so it should not interfere with this important process."
"We are very close to reaching an agreement that can bring peace to the region (including Lebanon), and all parties should exercise restraint."
"Israel should not attack anywhere in Lebanon again, and any other party (including Hezbollah) should not attack Israel."
"This could be the beginning of a long and beautiful peace — let's not mess it up."
