Reuters: Zuckerberg admits Meta made mistakes during AI transition, promises no large-scale layoffs within the year
Deep Tide TechFlow News, June 14th, according to Reuters, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees in an internal memo that Meta has made some mistakes in the process of driving AI transformation through layoffs and job adjustments. He stated that organizational change itself is highly complex, and the company may still encounter new errors in the future, but efforts will be made to improve the stability of the adjustment process.
In May this year, Meta laid off about 10% of its employees and reallocated approximately 7,000 employees to AI-related positions to support model training and artificial intelligence business development. This is also an important part of Meta's ongoing AI strategy.
Zuckerberg said the company does not expect to conduct company-wide layoffs again this year and will try to find new internal positions for employees reassigned to AI projects to reduce the impact of organizational changes on staff.
