This World Cup is the hardest one to enjoy. Although I don’t bet, the vibe I’m getting from all sorts of information around me is that match-fixing is likely to be widespread in this edition. Whether it’s the team expansion or the forced “water breaks” between the first and second halves, it gives plenty of room for all kinds of manipulation. It’s said that the organizers/book from the previous World Cup ended up losing money, so this time they’re going to cash in hard—especially during the group stage. If you really want to get in on it, you might be better off doing so in the knockout stage.
