Most people who come from modest backgrounds tend to fall into a common habit: whenever something happens, they’re always accustomed to laying everything bare—opening their hearts completely and telling it all at once.

In fact, this can hide serious risks. A person’s true “back-up card” in life comes down to nothing more than their assets and income, their family circumstances and background, and the personal connections and resources they have—these private matters must never be exposed too easily.

Idle talk that has nothing to do with one’s own stakes doesn’t require you to reveal all your private calculations. Once you enter society, learn to hold your tongue, share fewer personal details, and you can avoid many needless troubles.
