Musk is being celebrated for trying to solve problems that do not exist while society at large ignores or simply doesn't care for the actual problems most people have right now
so i think a lot of resentment towards him is pent up frustration with so much capital being spent on fantasy vanity projects disguised as humanitarian projects to push the species forward while society largely ignores the real struggles most people are actually going through right now
i think whether or not you like the concept of Elon Musk is dependent on if you have money vs. don't have money and he's largely disliked because most people do not have money.
