This is the conclusion I came to after watching the USA play Paraguay; their overall strength is more than one level higher! Paraguay has also previously won against Brazil and Argentina in the South American qualifiers for the World Cup. In this match, they once couldn't get out of their half due to the high pressing from the USA. USA's head coach, Argentinean Pochettino, truly revitalized left front player Pulisic!! The game was really beautiful to watch, with most threatening attacks breaking through from the flanks!!
From the overall matchup map, among the teams in Group D where the USA is, the only team with some strength is Turkey. Turkey qualified for the World Cup through the European playoff. If they play an offensive game against the USA, their defense will definitely collapse. If they play a full defensive game, they might have a chance, but I firmly believe the USA will finish first in the group.
Finishing first in the group means facing the third place team from Group BEFIJ. As long as the USA doesn't make major mistakes, they will easily advance to the Round of 16.
