Baltic Dry Bulk Freight Index continues to decline, still dragged down by lower freight rates for Capesize and Panamax ships. The Baltic Dry Bulk Freight Index fell 98 points from the previous trading day, or 3.36%, to 2,818 points. The Capesize ship freight index dropped 278 points, or 5.9%, to 4,441 points. Daily earnings for Capesize ships decreased by $2,524, to $36,771. The Panamax ship freight index declined 13 points, or 0.6%, to 2,205 points. Daily earnings for Panamax ships decreased by $120, to $19,846. The Supramax bulk carrier freight index rose 18 points, or 1.1%, to 1,614 points. The Handymax ship freight index increased by 3 points, to 868 points.
