Israeli Defense Forces Chief of Staff Zamir said on the 9th that the previous attack on Iran was intended to prepare for a “larger-scale, more forceful strike,” and that the IDF would continue to intensify its attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon. During an observation of a military drill in northern Israel that day, Zamir said the IDF has always maintained—and will continue to maintain—a state of readiness “to resume combat operations against Iran at any time.” He added that the IDF has carried out “rapid and forceful strikes” against Iran as preparation for a “larger-scale, more forceful” strike. Zamir said that the IDF is continuing to carry out military operations in the area of the “frontline defenses” in southern Lebanon, destroying the infrastructure of Hezbollah armed personnel.
