China's e-commerce logistics index continues to rise in May, with total business volume increasing by over 20% year-on-year

The China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing announced today the China E-commerce Logistics Index for May. The index continued to rise, further improving industry prosperity. In May, the China E-commerce Logistics Index was 111 points, up 0.4 points month-on-month. Among the main sub-indices, the total business volume index for e-commerce logistics was 128.3 points, an increase of 0.4 points month-on-month. Additionally, the rural e-commerce logistics market demand fully rebounded, and the rural e-commerce logistics business volume index stopped declining and rose again. Among them, the western region saw the largest increase. In May, the total business volume for e-commerce logistics and rural e-commerce logistics business volume both grew by over 20% year-on-year. In terms of categories, traditional essential categories like apparel and beauty remain stable and steady; seasonal fresh agricultural products such as cherries and lychees are thriving in production and sales, with faster circulation; tech products like smart home devices and wearable technology remain highly popular, with high-end digital gadgets rapidly entering ordinary households. The consumption structure is transforming towards intelligent and high-quality development, while emerging consumption scenarios such as outdoor sports and pet economy continue to expand, becoming new highlights for market growth.
