Deep Tide TechFlow News: On June 13, citing information from insiders reported by The Wall Street Journal in the United States on June 12, multiple state attorneys general in the U.S. have launched a joint investigation into the U.S. open artificial intelligence research center (OpenAI). The report says that the AI company received a subpoena that same day, requiring it to provide documents related to several of its business activities and their impact on users. OpenAI is currently facing multiple lawsuits involving issues with the design of its chatbot ChatGPT that have led to users’ suicide or have caused adverse effects on users. Some of the complaints allege that ChatGPT’s design “prioritizes user engagement over safety.” (Jin10)
