BlockBeats message. On June 13, according to a report by the U.S. Wall Street Journal, citing sources as of local time on June 12, multiple state attorneys general in the United States have launched a joint investigation into the U.S.-based artificial intelligence research center OpenAI. The report said that the AI company received subpoenas that day, requiring it to provide documents related to its various business activities and their impact on users.

OpenAI is currently facing multiple lawsuits, which involve issues with the design of its chatbot ChatGPT that have led to users committing suicide or causing other negative effects on users. Some lawsuits note that ChatGPT’s design “prioritizes user engagement over safety.” (CCTV International News)
