Caught the right direction at 64,300, but entered the market at 63,800
First, the results:
BTC short position, entry price 63,803.3, exit price 63,481.6, 5x leverage, profit +2.50%, earned 5.62 USDT.
Sounds okay?
But what I want to say is— I could have earned more.
What happened yesterday
While BTC was still fluctuating around 64,300,
the market structure was already weakening, volume shrinking, all signals indicating: short.
I knew clearly that this was an ideal short entry point.
But I hesitated.
“Wait for confirmation”
“What if it rebounds?”
“Wait for a more solid signal”
Then the price really started to fall.
From 64,300 all the way down.
By the time I finally gathered the courage to short, the price had already reached 63,803.
Missed out on a full 500 points.
Made a profit, but not satisfied at all.
In the end, I did earn 2.5%.
But if I had entered at 64,300, with the same position and leverage,
the profit should be several times what it is now.
This is one of the most uncomfortable feelings in trading:
Not losing money because you were wrong, but missing out on gains despite being right.
Those few minutes of hesitation impact returns more than any technical analysis.
What I learned this time
1️⃣ A plan is just a plan; don’t wait for “more confirmed signals”
The more certain the signal, the farther the price.
2️⃣ Execution is more important than analysis skills
Getting it right 100 times but not daring to enter equals zero.
3️⃣ Better to enter and cut losses than watch the market move away
Stop-loss is a controllable cost; missing out is an uncontrollable regret.
Why share this?
A few days ago, I posted about liquidation, forced closure, -98% loss.
Today, I share a small profitable trade, though not a huge profit,
but it truly reflects my current state:
Still learning, still improving, still hesitant, but at least I started executing.

Getting it right but not acting is equally worth reflecting on.
