A man in Hong Kong, China, was scammed out of 1.6 million USDT by a fake cryptocurrency exchange, and the suspect is still at large.

Mars Finance News, June 12 — According to local media in Hong Kong, on June 5, Hong Kong police received a report from a man claiming that he was scammed out of 1.6 million USDT, worth approximately 14 million Hong Kong dollars, when exchanging virtual currency earlier.
After an initial investigation, the case was classified as "obtaining property by deception" and referred to the 10th team of the Mong Kok Police District Criminal Investigation Unit for follow-up. No arrests have been made so far.
The police remind citizens that obtaining property by deception is a serious crime, and upon conviction, the maximum penalty can be up to fourteen years in prison.
