NVIDIA Begins Promoting Vera CPU to Chinese Customers: More Than $20k per Unit, First Batch of Customers to Test and Deploy Overseas

On June 12, Reuters reported that three insiders said NVIDIA has introduced a new Vera central processing unit for AI data centers to Chinese customers, adding that it could ship as early as August, and that customers have already been allowed to place orders. NVIDIA’s rapid push for the new product is intended to recover its China presence, as deliveries of the H200 chip to China have been obstructed and NVIDIA’s market share in China has fallen to nearly zero.
Next, there are three things to keep an eye on: whether the relevant funds continue to enter, whether on-chain trading volume and open positions keep expanding, and whether the project team or regulators provide any new confirmation. A single breaking-news item can only show that sentiment has been ignited; whether it can solidize into a trend will be determined by subsequent data.
Risks also need to be kept on the table: insiders say that some Chinese customers show interest in standalone CPUs designed specifically for agent AI. A major Chinese cloud service company plans to order more than 300 servers, with two Vera processors in each server.
