Bitwise CEO: There Is a Rhythm Discrepancy in the Crypto Investment Circle, Suggesting Investors Focus on the Long Term

Recently, Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley posted on the X platform, urging crypto investors to "zoom out" and pay attention to long-term substantive progress rather than short-term fluctuations.

Horsley pointed out that unless engaging in short-term trading, investors do not need to closely watch weekly news headlines or monthly price changes, but should focus on the following two dimensions;

First is the fundamentals of the cryptocurrency market. This includes on-chain technology applications, product-market fit, the participation depth of large enterprises and institutions, as well as team quality and execution capability;

Second, investors should concentrate on a yearly time frame. In his view, although the industry’s development path has not been smooth, the substantial progress made in the crypto industry from 2022 to 2026 is evident.

Horsley also noted that currently, crypto investors privately envy AI and SpaceX, but people tend to forget that those overnight success stories often require ten or twenty years of accumulation.

Horsley's remarks are a direct response to a post by crypto analyst Milk Road. The post states that Horsley believes most native investors in the crypto world have already developed a "rhythm mismatch" with mainstream investors.

Specifically, in the world of native crypto investors, an hour is considered fast, a day is quite quick, a week is a meaningful time frame, and events from four weeks ago are almost forgotten.

However, for mainstream investors who have just entered this field, a month is really fast, and a year is a reasonable time frame.

In summary, it can be seen that the overall rhythms of the two are completely different, but substantial industry progress does exist. It’s just that for those accustomed to measuring time in hours, this progress may not feel fast enough.
