Talking with a few friends about $ETH 's prospects, we just had a brainstorming session. I think clarifying my thoughts will help you decide whether to continue holding ETH and believing in Ethereum:
Two questions:
1) If the current DeFi protocol lock-up value (TVL) on Ethereum increases tenfold, do you think $ETH 's value can break $10,000?
2) If staking, restaking, and native POS mining and other financial APY yields on Ethereum can stay high or even double the US Treasury yields, would you put over 80% of your assets on the chain?
Three possible answers:
1) The passage of stablecoin-related legislation like the US GENIUS Act and CLARITY Act will clear the biggest obstacles for traditional institutions entering the space, including large firms like BlackRock and JPMorgan. These institutions will massively deploy stablecoins and deposit funds on-chain, with on-chain assets reaching over 20% of their total AUM. This flood of capital will make a tenfold TVL expansion effortless.
2) As the narrative of RWAFi asset tokenization further materializes, tokenized stocks will reach over a trillion dollars in scale. Meanwhile, your valuable assets in DeFi will shift from high-volatility assets like BTC, ETH, SOL to more stable assets like the S&P 500, Q, NVDA. The DeFi industry will shed its old baggage and usher in a true spring, with a new wave of derivatives innovation based on tokenized US stocks blossoming like mushrooms after rain. A game of nested derivatives backed by real assets will begin—are you looking forward to it?
3) Ethereum will truly turn technological narratives like zkVM, zk-SNARKs, FHE into privacy-preserving and high-performance transaction engine solutions. Institutions will be able to conduct large transactions, high-frequency market making, and arbitrage on-chain, spawning an Ethereum version of Hyperliquid. The need for “full transparency” from institutions on public chains and the associated conflicts will find the optimal solution. The narrative of Ethereum as a financial settlement chain will be realized, ushering in a new era of large-scale innovation in finance (DeFi, CeDeFi, TradFi). Perhaps this will revive many dead protocols, applications, and extension chains. Could a market with developer activity surpassing AI, driven by greater freedom and equality, generate even greater wealth?
That’s all.
After carefully considering these two questions and three potential outcomes, I believe every ETH holder will have a “new” answer in their heart.
