Circle launches CirBTC on Ethereum, a wrapped Bitcoin backed 1:1 by Bitcoin, using Chainlink Reserve Proof for on-chain reserve verification. CirBTC is custodied by Circle, with assets separated, allowing institutions to collateralize BTC in Ethereum smart contracts without selling the original BTC, and to circulate on-chain, marking Circle's official entry into the wrapped Bitcoin market.
