$H The attack on the blockchain identity verification project Humanity Protocol continues to escalate, with the scale of losses rapidly expanding. After the attacker stole a large amount of funds, Blockaid monitoring shows that the attacker has taken over the proxy admin rights of H tokens on the BSC chain and has additionally minted 100 million H tokens (approximately $12.9 million) to a new wallet, further expanding the scope of the attack. This attack has evolved into a massive security crisis affecting many, dealing a devastating blow to market confidence in H tokens.

💥 Attack details: From private key leak to loss of control

This attack originated from a serious private key leak. Project founder Terence Kwok confirmed that a private key belonging to a Humanity Foundation member was stolen, triggering this large-scale security incident.

The attacker used this access to target wallets that interacted with the Humanity protocol. On-chain analyst Specter was the first to detect anomalies, initially estimating that 17 wallets were compromised, with losses of about $19 million to $20 million. But the situation quickly spiraled out of control; within an hour, the estimated losses were repeatedly updated. As of press time, multiple data sources show that hundreds of addresses have been affected, with total losses soaring past $32 million.
However, the project team has already shut down deposits, waiting for takeoff, following the same routine as LAB.
