U.S. Central Command: The U.S. Marine Corps departed from the amphibious assault ship “Tripoli” (LHA 7) by helicopter, crossed the Arabian Sea, boarded, and seized the “M/V Touska.” On April 20, the Marines boarded the vessel flying an Iranian flag via rope descent. Previously, the missile destroyer “Spruance” disabled the propulsion system of “Touska” after the merchant ship failed to comply with multiple warnings from the U.S. military over a period of six hours.
