ME News Report, April 20 (UTC+8), the metaverse platform HYTOPIA posted on X platform stating that HYTOPIA is currently awaiting a large tax refund from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Without this funds, HYTOPIA cannot continue to cover current project operating costs and is forced to temporarily suspend infrastructure.
hytopia.com and related websites and services will be temporarily offline to reduce hosting and operational expenses.
The shortage of operating funds has also led to disputes with the HY Foundation over unpaid invoices, causing delays in some token-related deliverables.
HYTOPIA estimates the downtime to be about 1 to 3 months, and will announce the next steps after the refund is received.
HYTOPIA emphasizes that the HY Foundation is an independent entity separate from HYTOPIA.
