Russian Culture Minister Lyubimova recently stated that Russia plans to expand its cooperation with China in the film industry. During an interview at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Lyubimova said that China's film industry and film economy are among the world’s leading. Chinese filmmakers not only value the economic effects of films but also focus on the values, morals, and traditions reflected in the scripts. She said that at this stage, Russian filmmakers are working to develop the Chinese market. In this process, box office revenue is not the main consideration; simply entering the Chinese market signifies success for Russian films.
