The longer I follow the US stock market, the more I realize that successful investing is often about asking better questions rather than finding quick answers.

Instead of asking which stock will go up tomorrow, I find it more useful to ask which companies are strengthening their competitive position, expanding into new markets, and building products or services that customers will continue to need years from now.

One thing that consistently stands out is the importance of durability. Markets can be unpredictable, economic cycles come and go, and investor sentiment changes constantly. Yet some businesses continue growing through different environments because they have built strong foundations and maintain a clear long-term strategy.

I also think investors sometimes underestimate the importance of business quality. Revenue growth is important, but so are profitability, capital allocation, customer retention, and operational efficiency. The strongest companies often excel in multiple areas rather than relying on a single advantage.

Another lesson from the market is that opportunities rarely appear with complete certainty. By the time everyone agrees that a company is exceptional, much of the upside may already be reflected in the stock price. This is why investing often involves making decisions based on probabilities rather than guarantees.

For me, the most rewarding part of following the market is observing how businesses evolve over time. Some adapt, some innovate, and some completely transform their industries. Understanding those changes can provide valuable insights into where future opportunities may emerge.
