Our real-world experience often tells us: in romantic relationships, the poorer a girl is, the harder she is to pursue; the wealthier a girl is, the easier she is to pursue. But what this statement truly means is not that poverty necessarily makes someone difficult to get along with, nor that wealth necessarily makes someone easy to get along with. The real difficulty doesn't come from a lack of resources, but from a lack of inner richness. The more a person needs others to prove their worth, the higher the cost in the relationship; the more a person can independently fulfill their sense of security, the simpler the relationship becomes. Therefore, the most important thing when pursuing someone is not whether she has a car, a house, or savings, but her level of personal maturity, self-worth, and emotional stability.
