Hardware wallets, multi-signature, and social recovery—put simply, it’s about “how much you can afford to lose right now and whether you’re willing to deal with the hassle.” For small amounts and lots of day-to-day interactions, a hardware wallet is enough. Just sign once, and you can stay calm for half a second to stop yourself from clicking impulsively. As your assets grow a bit and you still love tinkering with DeFi, multi-signature feels even safer—but it’s really quite a pain. When you need to operate while you’re out and about, it’s easy to get restless, feel like cutting corners, and go lazy. Social recovery sounds gentle, but in reality it means splitting “trust” among several people. Picking the wrong person is even more awkward than losing your seed phrase… Don’t cram risk into relationships just to save yourself some trouble. Seeing yet another wave of Meme and celebrity signal-calling trending on the hot list, newcomers shouldn’t rush to chase. Attention flips too fast, and the ones who end up taking the last turn are often the “people who just learned how to open a position.” My own rule is still the same: first manage your positions like they’re children—don’t stay up late, don’t use high leverage, and if you’re itching to trade, do it less.
