A British teenager has been sanctioned by Russia for reporting on alleged cryptocurrency money laundering activities in Moscow that Russia is accused of supporting

ME News Report, June 4th (UTC+8), British teenager Alexander Browder stated that he has been placed on a sanctions list and banned from entry by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after writing a report exposing a Russian-supported cryptocurrency money laundering network. The report indicates that countries like Russia, Iran, and North Korea launder approximately $350 billion, with a stablecoin called A7A5 linked to the ruble being one of the main issues facing Western anti-money laundering efforts. The UK Foreign Office said that Russia uses tokens like A7A5 to evade Western sanctions and fund its military. The UK government imposed sanctions on individuals related to the network in May, which transferred over $90 billion last year. Alexander Browder said he is very proud to be the first high school student globally to be sanctioned by an authoritarian regime for exposing corruption. (Source: ChainCatcher)
