ME News report: On April 19 (UTC+8), security was upgraded locally in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital. Some shops were closed, parts of traffic were restricted, and security forces were strengthened around several hotels. A Pakistani source said that on the day in question, three aircraft carrying U.S. personnel landed at Nur Khan Air Base. At present, shops on both sides of the roads connecting Islamabad and Nur Khan Air Base have closed, and security forces including military police have been reinforced around several major hotels in the city. Meanwhile, the Serena Hotel—where the previous round of U.S.-Iran negotiations took place—and the nearby Marriott Hotel have notified in-house guests to check out on that day. (Source: PANews)
