Polymarket accuses Kalshi of engaging in corporate espionage, claiming that multiple product launches are "too coincidental."
Odaily Planet Daily reports that prediction market platform Polymarket believes its competitor Kalshi may be conducting corporate espionage against its New York office and employees. Polymarket's marketing director confirmed that the company is conducting an internal investigation and stated that "there are too many coincidences," suspecting malicious intent from Kalshi.
The report states that Polymarket internally compiled a file called "Imitators," documenting about a dozen suspicious incidents. Among them, Polymarket had planned to launch a free grocery flash event on February 12, but Kalshi launched a similar event approximately nine days earlier; additionally, Polymarket was scheduled to announce its perpetual contract product plan on April 21, but about an hour before the release, tech media The Information reported that Kalshi was also preparing to launch a similar product.
Polymarket employees are also concerned that the venture capital firm Paradigm supporting Kalshi has an office located opposite their workplace, which could pose a risk of peering at employees' computer screens. It is reported that Polymarket installed window coverings on some office windows earlier this spring.
In response, a Kalshi spokesperson denied all allegations and called Polymarket's suspicions "sad and almost paranoid." (New York Post)
