🎟️ What is a Token?

A token is a digital asset built on top of an existing blockchain using smart contracts. Tokens don't have their own underlying ledger; instead, they use the security and infrastructure of the host network. They can represent anything from a share in a project, to a digital collectible (NFT), to access to a specific service.

Examples: Tether $USDT ‌ Chainlink$LINK ‌ are tokens built on top of the Ethereum blockchain.

LINK-2.73%

🪙 What is a Coin?

A coin is a native digital asset that operates on its own independent blockchain. It is primarily designed to function like traditional money acting as a store of value and a medium of exchange or to pay for transaction fees (gas) on that network.

Examples: Bitcoin $BTC operates on the Bitcoin blockchain; Ether $ETH ‌ operates on the Ethereum blockchain.
