Do you even understand what law means in physics?
Do you realize nowhere in any textbooks of physics gravity is supposed holding tomorrow? For all we know there is some mechanism in nature that doubles or halves gravity after 13 billion years of universe existence. That day could be tomorrow. We don't know.
We simply have observed it long enough to call it a regularity, a law.
This all what it means.
The power law has been real for Bitcoin, in its context (a deterministic trend in a stochastic process) as real as gravity.
It doesn't mean it holds tomorrow if the condition creating the power law are not longer there.
Elephant tusks grow as power laws. If the elephant is starved the growth of the tusk would not follow that pattern.
The power law then is a diagnostic tool indicating something drammatic changed with the elephant physiology. It is still important and useful even when doesnt apply anymore.
