sleep has been one of the biggest things ive been trying to fix the past few years

im healthy otherwise, eat well, train regularly, no real issues there
and im genuinely most productive at night, so i didnt mind pulling late nights, ive basically run on them for years
but ive always wondered how much more i could do if i flipped it, slept earlier and woke up earlier
never managed to despite trying melatonin, magnesium glycinate & the usual sleep advice (black out curtains, cold room, no food 4hrs before etc)
then i read this thing about revenge bedtime procrastination, something common in a lot of people with adhd, and it was the first thing that actually made sense to me
youre not staying up because you want more time to relax, youre staying up because your brain burned all its focus during the day on meetings and decisions and switching between things, and by night its running on empty and trying to claw back the stimulation it never got
so you reach for your phone at midnight and start scrolling, because thats easy dopamine your brain can grab without any effort
for me it was more work, calls and talking to my team and it made so much sense
it explained the last few years better than anything else ive tried
not sure if this helps anyone but thought i'd share my experience
