Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack, one of the more hawkish Fed officials, said she currently believes it is appropriate to keep rates unchanged. According to her, inflation, which remains above the Fed's 2% target, is a greater concern than risks to the still-resilient labor market.


Hammack added that if current inflation trends persist, the Fed may soon need to shift to tighter monetary policy to prevent inflation from becoming entrenched above target.
