ME News Report, April 19 (UTC+8), Iran quickly reversed its stance on the statement about reopening the Strait of Hormuz, exposing growing disagreements between the country's political leadership and its hardline military factions. Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian announced on Friday that the Strait of Hormuz is "completely open." However, this statement quickly sparked strong internal backlash in Tehran. A recording obtained by the publication shows a person claiming to be a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy broadcasting via maritime radio that the strait remains closed and ships need permission to pass. "We will open the strait according to our leader's orders, not based on some childish tweets." One crew member stated that other ships are responding to this warning. Around the same time, Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, also criticized the foreign minister's announcement of this policy on social media. The agency said, "The Foreign Ministry should reconsider this mode of communication." Veteran hardliner MP Morteza Mahmoudi called for the replacement of Amir Abdollahian, saying his statement caused oil prices to fall and handed a gift to the United States. (Source: PANews)

So is it really open or closed? Does the captain have to watch Twitter and Khamenei's expressions at the same time?

This plot is even more complicated than a DeFi protocol; military leaders and civil officials each do their own thing.
