US Media: Trump publicly appears arrogant, but internally is filled with fear

ME News Report, April 19 (UTC+8), The Wall Street Journal reports that U.S. President Trump seems to lack his usual "adventurous spirit," and his fear of the situation is deepening. Previously, inside the almost deserted West Wing of the White House, Trump, upon learning that U.S. fighter jets were shot down in Iran and two pilots were missing, was emotionally agitated and shouted at his aides, saying "Europeans are of no help." According to people who have spoken with him, the shadow of the 1979 Iran hostage crisis still lingers. After the U.S. pilots were finally rescued, Trump attempted to weaken Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz. He posted on social media: "Open the strait, you lunatics." Trump's style of conduct in this crisis has become more extreme, sometimes showing belligerence, sometimes leaning toward reconciliation, but he has always been worried about the worsening situation and the potential threat to soldiers' safety from military conflict.
