Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake stated that the Shor algorithm paper released by Google's Quantum AI team on March 31st achieved approximately a tenfold improvement in the efficiency of elliptic curve cryptography attacks, using the secp256k1 curve employed in Bitcoin and Ethereum signatures as an example. Drake mentioned that some optimization details in the paper are hidden using zero-knowledge proof methods, and subsequently, French quantum expert André Schrottenloher rediscovered the key optimization. The community-initiated ecdsa fail challenge also broke records related to the Shor algorithm within a few hours.
