Whenever I see “unlimited approvals,” I get a conditioned reflex—like turning off the gas before bed: if I don’t, I just don’t feel at ease. To put it plainly, many pitfalls aren’t caused by you clicking the wrong thing on a single transaction; it’s because that approval stays hanging around. Later, if the contract glitches or gets hacked, funds in your wallet can be moved to someone else—right into a “why did I even think that was fine?” kind of spiral.

During the airdrop season, the task platforms are at it again with anti-bot (“anti-witchcraft”) measures and point-based systems. As I grind through tasks, it starts to feel like clocking in at work, and I’m more likely to make mistakes and keep granting approvals. My clumsy workaround: after every interaction, I immediately revoke any permissions I don’t need—especially those “unlimited” ones that are supposedly there to “save on gas.” You save a little money, but you pay for it with poor sleep. Either way, before going to bed, I take a look at the approval list, revoke a couple of them, and I wake up the next day feeling steadier. You can try it too—don’t wait for something to go wrong before you play catch-up.
