According to the Ukrainian side, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, causing 18 deaths—6 in Kyiv and 12 in Dnipro—with some areas experiencing power outages. Zelensky said that more than 500 emergency personnel have been deployed; Kyiv was the worst affected, with multiple buildings damaged, and he said that Russia is conveying that Ukraine needs the U.S. to provide “Patriot” missiles. The Ministry of Energy said that after the attack, power outages occurred in multiple places, Kyiv’s energy facilities were damaged, and workers are stepping up repairs.
