Tianya Community is rebooting—basically just to have some fun. As for the so-called 200 million registered users, most of them are already in their forties or fifties, even older, with little data value. Aside from the regulatory environment being completely different, those IDs with the ability to produce high-quality content have either died, been injured, fled, been caught, changed, or gone into hiding—so they can’t possibly recreate their earlier output capabilities. Tianya’s reboot is like a 30th graduation anniversary: set a time to return to your alma mater for a nostalgic visit, stroll around, have a couple of drinks, say a few heartfelt things, and then disperse.
