I saw a clip of Wang Ning's speech before, talking about his business model, and I suddenly realized it's pretty impressive.

Here is roughly what he meant:
Wang Ning said, if you are the richest person in the world, and you forget to turn off the faucet at home, wasting a whole day's worth of water, you would still feel distressed.
But if there is a fountain at your door, and it wastes much more water than the faucet, you wouldn't think there's any problem.
Because as long as something has practical use, people will become very rational, calculating whether it's worth it, expensive, or cost-effective.
But if something is inherently useless, people tend to become less rational, buying it more out of liking, happiness, or simply because they think it's cool.
