What Chinese people value most is not necessarily right or wrong, but "face."

Many people can accept poverty but cannot accept losing face;
they can endure loss but cannot admit failure.
Because in the perception of many, admitting mistakes is not about correcting oneself,
but about denying oneself.
So everyone desperately maintains their image, their stance, their past choices.
Over time, the things performed for others also gradually become what they believe in.
A society that is unwilling to admit mistakes often ends up not lacking the truth,
but lacking people who are willing to accept and acknowledge the truth.
