TIP-1061 is a bold move; the protocol layer's native multi-signature directly saves a lot of gas and complexity, further lowering the barrier for institutional entry.

Tempo proposes to introduce multi-signature as a native account type at the protocol layer on the network
Tempo proposes TIP-1061, a native multi-signature account proposal, introducing multi-signature as a native account type at the protocol layer into the network, enabling multi-signature control without deploying smart contract wallets. The solution supports M/N, multi-layer and weighted multi-signatures, Secp256k1, P256, WebAuthn signatures, and maintains the account address unchanged when adjusting members and permissions. It is aimed at DAO, institutional, and validator scenarios and is still in the draft stage.
