These past two days, I really feel overloaded with information. In the group chat there are a bunch of screenshots, plus a whole string of long threads from KOLs. The moment my emotions kick in, I accidentally slip and click buy. Honestly, in the end, the one who pays the bill is still me. It’s not quite right to blame the group for being too noisy, and blaming the KOLs is even less useful. For them, the cost of speaking is almost zero—my impulsive cost is real… Sometimes I can’t even tell whether I actually like the work, or whether I’m being pushed along by “narrative” and FOMO.
Recently, all that Layer2 back-and-forth—comparing TPS, fees, and subsidies—also feels a lot like the kind of verbal sparring where everyone’s just churning out metric-fighting. But what I want to see more than anything is real on-chain usage, and whether the community can actually settle and take shape. Anyway, my approach right now is to go slower: when I see a retro collage I like / or an on-chain exhibition, I first save it, then decide the next day whether to go for it. I’ll also take a look at the holder distribution and the royalty settings. It’s depressing, but at least I can move my finger away from the “confirm” button a little.
